Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson to be permanently canceled after medical issue

The late great fighter Demetrious Johnson feels that Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson should be put on hold indefinitely.

On July 20, the social media celebrity was scheduled to fight heavyweight boxing legend Tyson however, the fight was called off after the 58-year-old experienced an ulcer flare-up while travelling. The former undisputed champion has been told by doctors to take a significant hiatus from training before making a comeback later this year.

One of the most accomplished world champions in UFC history, Johnson, though, thinks the fight shouldn’t be rescheduled. Despite the broadcaster Netflix’s insistence as they are making their first boxing match he believes Paul should instead go on another well-known fighter in a more secure match.

Johnson has been thoroughly covering this bout on his popular YouTube channel, “Mighty,” where he has been dissecting Paul’s career for some time. However, in an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour yesterday, he urged Netflix to cancel the Tyson return match.

Johnson would like to watch KSI, maybe his biggest opponent, square off against the social media sensation rather than witness a postponed Paul vs. Tyson match. Since 2018, the two have been at odds, and in 2019, Jake had to witness his brother Logan Paul lose a contentious split decision to the British.

Johnson went on, “Jake Paul can fight a lot of guys out there.” “KSI is one of them; he’s capable of facing Tyron Woodley again in a battle. He could take on Anthony Pettis, Jorge Masvidal, and Mike Perry. There are a tonne of males.

“He can defeat big-name opponents who are older than him but younger than Mike Tyson. I simply believe that he is fighting Mike Tyson. I don’t want to see Mike get wounded, and the guy is fifty-eight. That has nothing to do with Jake or Mike; it’s simply my own perspective.

“He has a legitimate cause for attacking a 58-year-old. Eddie Hearn could definitely find Jake Paul a fight partner. This is the most ridiculous thing that is taking place at the moment.

Tyson will take a break from training, and the fight will be rescheduled, according to a statement released on Friday by Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, which he controls with former UFC CFO Nakisa Bidarian. Doctors ordered the pause after he was treated by paramedics on a flight due to an ulcer flare-up.

Doctors advised Tyson to take a break from training for his return fight, despite his initial insistence that he felt “100%” following the aeroplane incident’s news disclosure. They have thus decided on a new date, which will be revealed this week. News for Boxing

According to a press statement issued by the firm, Mike Tyson was advised to do light to moderate exercise for the next several weeks before returning to full training without any restrictions following a follow-up session with medical authorities on Thursday about his recent ulcer flare-up.

“Mike and Jake both feel that it is only right to make sure that each athlete has the same amount of training time in order to be ready for this crucial game and be ready to perform at the greatest level.

“Our first concern is the health and welfare of athletes, and we completely back Mike in taking the time he needs to reach his own performance goals.

“Mike is excited to go back in the ring and is anticipated to resume his full training routine in the upcoming weeks. MVP plans to reschedule the match for later this year at AT&T Stadium. We anticipate an intense and well planned competition between these two outstanding players.”
